The South Central Community Action Program will be one of more than two dozen local organizations participating in and supporting The Health & Wealth Expo at the Crestmont Community (1000 Monroe Street) in Bloomington.
The Expo, sponsored by Bloomington Hospital, will be held this Saturday, June 6, from noon to 4 p.m. There will be free bike helmets and food provided.
SCCAP will take Summer Cool Program applications from people who haven’t signed up previously for the Energy Assistance Program and will take electric bills from those who qualified for the winter program so they can receive summer energy assistance. We will also enroll eligible children into the SCCAP Head Start Program.
We will also offer a free DVD with energy conservation information, as well as information about all of our other programs.
SCCAP’s Head Start staff will help to organize the Kids Zones at the Health & Wealth Expo, so kids can have fun with games and activities while their parents may participate in health screenings and an employment fair, and receive information about other local resources. Monroe County United Ministries and the Monroe County Asset Building Coalition will also staff the Kids Zone area.
