SCCAP applies for additional emergency housing assistance funds in Morgan County

The South Central Community Action Program has applied for just more than $9,000 in Emergency Food and Shelter Program funds to serve additional people in danger of eviction or foreclosure in Morgan County.

The funds would be used for rental and mortgage assistance to low-income families and individuals who have had an emergency that puts them in danger of losing their housing and who can show that they will have resources to pay their rent or mortgage in the months after they receive assistance.

These additional EFSP funds are part of the federal stimulus funds created through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. We will keep you posted on the status of our application.
