WGCL reporting on local nonprofit activities

The South Central Community Action Program has recently worked out an arrangement to have a guest from a local nonprofit organization on WGCL 1370 AM’s Glass in the Morning show each Tuesday morning.

Guests, so far, have included Todd Lare and Chris Myers of SCCAP, and Rebecca Stanze of Monroe County United Ministries.

This week, Amy Jackson of Stone Belt will be on Glass in the Morning at 8:08 Tuesday. Amy will be talking about Stone Belt’s 50th Anniversary and the agency’s upcoming event Belt Out Laughing!, taking place this Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Belt Out Laughing! is a comedy benefit celebrating Stone Belt’s 50 years supporting individuals with disabilities in the community. The event features comedian Josh Blue, winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing Season 4, who lives with Cerebral Palsy. Tickets are $25.

We appreciate WGCL taking time to inform the public about events, programs and issues involving local nonprofit organizations! If you are part of a nonprofit organization and would like to provide news about your organization on Glass in the Morning, please contact me at

  1. Thanks to Doug for scheduling these appearances. Thanks also to WGCL for allowing nonprofits a weekly spotlight forum.
