SCCAP Head Start had its first day of class today after the holiday break.
That meant it was also the first day for two new classes created with the Head Start expansion grant that SCCAP received as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. One of the new classes is at a new Head Start site at St. Paul United Methodist Church on W. Third Street. The other is at the existing Arlington Head Start site.
These two new classes raise SCCAP’s Head Start enrollment from 232 children to 267 3-5 year-olds served each day in Monroe County. This does not include the infant through 3-year-olds that will be served in SCCAP’s Early Head Start program, which will begin this summer.
