Federal stimulus funds aid local residents

The Herald-Times current series on stimulus funding in our area includes a description today of the SCCAP programs that have been expanded through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding.

Those with subscriptions to HeraldTimesOnline.com can check out that story here:

One person who read this story at HTO posted a comment about SCCAP’s Weatherization Program that I want to share here:

“I personally know of one home that was recently included in the weatherization program. The disabled owner was so overcome by the replacement of the furnace and window, along with added insulation and other cost saving fixtures that he could hardly tell me about it. The workers in the house were considerate and courteous, and an inspector made sure all was safe and secure. The owner wishes to thank all of you out there who are able to work and pay the taxes that made him able to live alone in a home he can afford and be comfortable in.”
