South Central Community Action Program, Inc. (SCCAP) is seeking an AmeriCorps Worker (AC) with a strong understanding of poverty and commitment to help families with multi-dimensional problems become economically self-sufficient. SCCAP is a non-profit agency administering programs to low-income families in a four-county area.
The AC will primarily perform his/her service hours in the Circles TM Initiative in recruiting, training, interviewing, scheduling, and providing overall supervision for the volunteers. This position will also participate and represent SCCAP in the broader community.

The AC will be required to have 1700 service hours within the service year and in return will be paid a monthly living allowance of $983. At the completion will receive an Educational Award of $5350.00.
Requirements: Two years of college with experience in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Family Development or related field and experience in volunteer management and recruitment or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
