Work on the much-awaited parking lot expansion to add 15 parking spaces at the South Central Community Action Program’s main office in Bloomington began today.
This is an exciting day because we have for years had a shortage of spaces that made it difficult for clients and staff to find a safe spot to park their cars. And what a timely rescue! With our winter Energy Assistance Program having started just last week, this is the time of year that we are most in need of additional parking spots.
Excavation began today, to be followed by concrete work and asphalt over the next couple of weeks. The entire project is expected to be finished by the 29th, weather permitting.
Jack Todd Construction from Brown County is doing the work. We offer our thanks to the City of Bloomington’s Jack Hopkins grant program for most of the funding to do the work and to SCCAP’s own Chris Myers, who has shepherded this project through the whole process of applications and approvals necessary to begin work.
